Canadian Olympic Committee thinking bigger for 2012

With a successful Beijing Games in the books, a satisfied Canadian Olympic Committee has started looking ahead to 2012 and London, England.
The COC is targeting a top-12 finish in four years after Canadian athletes met its goal of a top-16 standing in Beijing by placing 15th with 18 medals (three gold, nine silver and six bronze).

Montgomery said he took testosterone before Sydney Olympics

Former world record holder Tim Montgomery said he took testosterone and human growth hormone before the Sydney Olympics and does not deserve the gold medal he won in the 4x100-meter relay.

The admission was made during an interview scheduled to air Tuesday on HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.

"I have a gold medal that I'm sitting on that I didn't get with my own ability," Montgomery said in the interview. "I'm not here to take away from anybody else's accomplishments, only my own. And I must say, I apologize to the other people that was on the relay team if that was to happen."

Sailing venue is first London Games project to be completed

Sailing facilities for the 2012 London Olympics were officially unveiled Friday, making it the first new venue to be completed for the Games.

The $10 million marina is located at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy in Dorset, on the south coast of England, which boasts some of the best small-boat sailing conditions in the world.
